Hello! We are small business that was founded in 2022 in the Bay Area that focuses on West African dance & rhythms. Kuumba is the sixth principle of Kwanzaa that means "creativity" in Swahili (African language). According to the website (www.officialkwanzaawebsite.org), it has been defined as meaning: "To always do as much as we can, in the way we can, so that we can leave our community more beautiful than it was when we inherited it." This meaning is important because self-care, coping strategies, and body movement are wonderful opportunities for people to expand creativity.
"We provide spaces for creativity to thrive."
We offer a variety of services such as:
This is a space were all are welcome. No matter where you come from. Somewhere you can feel a sense of belonging and connection. Classes are beginner friendly for all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Overall health & wellness for the community and serving others is our mission.
“Your life is busy enough, so let us make your fitness fun.”
Throughout the year we provide dance classes, drum circles & performances for events within schools PK-12th grade, colleges, businesses & organizations in the Bay Area and San Joaquin Valley. Our performances are engaging, educational, positive, and interactive for children, adults, and the community. We love bringing unity in various communities!
